I'm Looking for a first person shooter game to get a little rotation in to my gaming, thats not call of duty or Halo. Was looking at Arma 3, anyone have any experience with the Arma series? any recommendations

From DDO to AOC to SWTOR to LOTRO to ESO all characters have started with the name Shoe. It all goes back to trying to decide on a character name in my first MMO. Having a shoebox near me and frustrated on my lack of creativity I typed it in and sure enough it worked, and the legacy was born.

Once you're done playing those I recommend Half Life.
It's a little bit aged now, but it's fantastic and now's the prime time to buy it as it's super cheap in the Steam Summer sale.
I've seen a friend playing Arma 2 I think it was and it looked like the least fun I've ever seen, but he seemed to like it. It's an incredibly punishing military simulator rather than an fps.
